Jenny’s on the Green train!

The Bruce Grey Owen Sound Green Party of Canada will be represented by Jenny Parsons when she joins the Green Train this week in Toronto!

The Green Train is a journey to raise awareness of both the crisis facing Canada’s under-funded and mismanaged rail system, and the crisis facing our democracy. Green Party leader Elizabeth May left Vancouver headed to Fredericton on Friday, July 11 and has been joined by supporters all along the route.

There will be 6 “whistle stop” rallies along the way where people can come out to show their support: Oshawa 9:57 AM; Coburg 10:30 AM; Kingston 11:39 AM; 1:16 Cornwall; Montreal 5:00 PM and on Thursday, July 17 at the Miramichi train station of New Brunswick at 11:31 AM.

In New Brunswick, Jenny will attend the Green Party of Canada 2014 convention. She will report back to the riding on important discussions including imagining alternatives to a fossil fuel economy; getting our democracy back on track; sustainable food policy; the rural-urban divide and supporting small businesses.

Jenny will be writing articles about her trip and on the Federal Annual General Meeting…

How unfortunate that this cross country trip by green members has been the best kept secret in Canada thus far, even the GPC News / Press Release’s does not mention it, not everyone subscribes to FB & Twitter. We must do better in getting the word out than this if we are to make any progress in 2015. I am hoping that Jenny will provide us with some insights soon so that at least here on our website we can keep folks better informed.
