A busy month of May for the BGOS Greens.

Greens, make sure you get your calendars out, it’s about to become a busy couple of months!

As by now I am sure everyone is well aware that there will be a provincial election June 12th. We will get the 2014 campaign kicked off Thursday May8th with a Candidate Nomination Meeting. This meeting will be held at the Owen Sound Farmer’s Market and will start at 7:00pm. Come out and meet new Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Green Party of Ontario Executive, other Greens, a chance to quiz the potential candidate(s) and enjoy some refreshments and music afterwards.

The local Owen Sound chapter of 350.org will be having a “Defend our Climate, Defend our Communities” rally in front of the city’s town hall. It will start at 10:00 am on Saturday May 10th, bring a strong voice and some noise makers. We need to wake the politicians and Ottawa up from their slumber. We need serious climate action now! Please come out and let your voice be heard! Don’t forget to call our local MP and let him know that it’s time to get serious about Climate Science!

The Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Green Party of Canada will be having their 2014 AGM on May 22nd, 2014 at the Williamsford Mill, it will start at 7:00pm.  Nathan Carey will be speaking about the die-off of our pollinators and friends, the Bee’s. What can we do to stop this? What are the causes? We are looking forward to hearing from Nathan. Joyce Hall from Leadnow and Fair Vote Canada will be speaking to us again this year. Last year we heard about different voting systems, this hear we will hear about something far more dire, the attack on democracy in Canada.
