OTTAWA – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich – Gulf Islands, issued the following statement today regarding her inclusion in the federal leader’s debates:
“I never really doubted that having won my seat and now having two Green Members of Parliament, with proven strength across Canada, the Greens could be excluded.
“Still, I am grateful and relieved that the consortium has confirmed Green Party inclusion well ahead of a writ drop.”
NOTE. Green Party representatives have been invited to the negotiations with the ‘consortium’ that will decide upon the details of the debate(s).
