Jenny Parsons is an all-around Canadian woman. She was born in Regina; grew up in Halifax; and lived in Toronto for many years before settling in beautiful West Grey, Ontario.
Having obtained a degree in Political Science from York University, she was ready to embark on a career in public policy when her other passion, comedy, morphed from a hobby into a career. Jenny has spent many years working for the Canadian comedy institution, The Second City, performing with the likes of Martin Short, Dave Thomas, Robin Duke, John Candy and Colin Mochrie.
Since coming to West Grey seven years ago, Jenny has become a fixture in the arts community and has performed at a number of local venues and events throughout the area. Jenny acted as host of the 100th anniversary of The Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound and was recipient of the first place prize in the 2013 Meaford Hall Juried Art Show. Jenny champions local food and local farmers markets where she and her husband sell Montréal-style bagels and artisan breads.
Recently, Jenny has been working with kids in Lookup Theatre’s Circus Arts Camps in Hanover, Owen Sound and Saugeen First Nation. Some of the organizations Jenny has volunteered with include South Grey Bruce Youth Literacy Council; Durham Art Gallery and Words Aloud, Spoken Word Festival.
Jenny currently resides in West Grey with her husband, Steven, and their black lab Rocky Saugeen.
